2025 Ford F-150 Engine Differences

With six engines to choose from, there’s a potent power source for every driving style in the 2025 Ford F-150. The 5.0L Ti-VCT V8, 2.7L EcoBoost® V6, and 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engines are all available on the base XL trim and up. Each of these first three engines are offered in 4x2 or 4x4 drivetrains, plus each comes with versatile power. The 3.5L EcoBoost V6 can achieve the top towing capacity of all the engines combined — 13,500 pounds.

Meanwhile, higher-level trims can be equipped with a 3.5L PowerBoost® full hybrid V6. If you opt for the full hybrid engine, it can achieve up to 570 pound-feet of torque. Plus, it offers a 7.2-kilowatt (kW) Pro Power Onboard outlet in the truck bed. If you choose the top-of-the-line Raptor® trim, it comes exclusively with either the high-output 3.5L EcoBoost V6 or 5.2L supercharged V8 engine options. The V6 produces up to 450 horsepower, while the V8 achieves a whopping 720 horsepower.

2025 Ford F-150 Towing Capacity

If you’re planning to tow with the 2025 Ford F-150, all six engines have energetic capabilities. However, the engines with the top towing capacities include the 3.5L EcoBoost V6 — 13,500 pounds — the 5.0L Ti-VCT V8 — 12,900 pounds — and the 3.5L PowerBoost full hybrid V6 with 11,200 pounds. The other three engines have a towing capacity that ranges from 8,200 pounds to 8,700 pounds, depending on the engine and configuration selected.
