2025 Ford Ranger Engines & Performance
Optimized power is a hallmark of each engine in the 2025 Ford Ranger lineup. Whether you’re towing, hauling, off-roading, or commuting, there’s various features and capabilities available that will help you get the job done. There are three EcoBoost engine options — the mid-range 315-horsepower 2.7L EcoBoost V6, top-of-the-line 405-horsepower 3.0L EcoBoost V6, and versatile 2.3L EcoBoost. All three engines come with a ten-speed automatic transmission, and the 2.7L EcoBoost and 3.0L EcoBoost are both standard with 4x4. The 2.3L EcoBoost, meanwhile, can be built with either a 4x2 drivetrain or 4x4 drivetrain.
If you’re planning to adventure off-road, turn to the FX4® Off-Road Package, which includes features like off-road-tuned shocks, an exposed steel bash plate, and an electronic-locking rear differential. Other available off-roading features include Trail Control™ — which controls your acceleration and braking when off-road — and an off-road screen, which shows you pitch and roll angles when you’re off-roading. Available towing tools include Pro-Trailer Backup Assist™, a trailer brake controller, and tow/haul mode. If you opt for the available Trailer Tow Package, you can tow up to 7,500 pounds with the Ranger.
